The Parlour Midtown Restaurant/Lounge |
247
West 30th Street
(212) 967-1070
An upscale gastro
steakhouse, located near Madison Square Garden. The place
looks like a bar/lounge hangout at first glance, but the
restaurant is in the back. The atmosphere is also upbeat
with a very amusing DJ. The food is well done and plentiful.
The meats are prime quality and deserts are excellent. It
appears that a lot of care is given to maintain the quality
of the food. Great for groups, service is excellent.

Yerba
Buena |
23 Avenue A. (212) 212-529-2919
The mood and décor at Yerba Buena,
“takes its inspiration from old-time Havana.” There’s
nothing over-the-top about it; the place thankfully does not
look like a movie set. A small, bright white neon sign is
planted in the restaurant’s window, and the room is breezy
and dark. Diners can check in on the kitchen, which is
separated from the dining room with a large glass window.

The "fun" factor is high on the menu of experimental,
multi-ethnic shared plates. Tender Kobe beef sliders, sweet
chunky lobster rolls and mango-studded red snapper tacos
look almost too cute to eat. And it'd be easy to become an
oyster addict with the restaurant's Rockefeller, breaded,
deep-fried and topped with bacon. For less-traditional fare,
try the French onion soup dumplings--their liquid soup
center bursts in the mouth--but steer clear of the confused
beef short rib ravioli. Larger plates like the wasabi-pea
salmon satisfy, but lack flair. For a simple finish, the
piping hot sugar-coated doughnuts do the trick. Amazing
place!

This Pan Asian restaurant's opening was a huge hit in NYC. A
giant Buddha protects the dining room where they serve specialties
such as Peking Duck for Two and Kobe beef. Don't miss the bright
red bathroom entryway. The wishing well and the floating stairway
upstairs. Super trendy NYC hotspot for sure. Atmosphere all
the way. Digital Cities for more info

A mondo-trendy, beautifully designed spot. Almost any night
